Inland Cellular

“At Inland Cellular, we are constantly evaluating ways to advance our customer experience and provide our customer base with enhanced service offerings. Applying the CBRS use case to our existing infrastructure seemed like a natural progression for us. We are excited to work with Extenet on this initial trial and eventual commercial CBRS service rollout for our customers,” said the Inland Cellular CEO

Delivering 4G LTE Fixed Wireless for Inland Cellular

In 2014, Extenet built out its first fixed wireless LTE network infrastructure for Inland Cellular, serving the communities of eastern Washington and north-central Idaho. The solution provides enhanced 4G LTE wireless service as an economical alternative to fixed broadband lines. Extenet, which develops its own LTE Evolved Packet Core (EPC), delivered a bundled solution of the EPC and RAN equipment to Inland Cellular as a next-gen infrastructure capable of supporting a number of use cases. Commercial service was launched in June 2015, providing fixed wireless capability from all 108 network sites.

Extenet then expanded the scope of service to include Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), allowing Inland to use the same bundled solution to start trialing shared spectrum services like CBRS. A highly attractive benefit of this solution is the ability to support multiple use cases from the same infrastructure: Fixed Wireless, LTE Mobility, Roaming, VoLTE, Wi-Fi and more.
